As a Senior Program/Project Manager within the Customer Performance Management (CPM) modernization, this role is responsible for the successful delivery of key CPM initiatives that span multiple McKesson business units and segments. The Senior Program Manager ensures continuous alignment of program objectives with CPM strategic priorities, including contract lifecycle management, pricing, rebates, compliance, and enablement. This role partners closely with business, technology, and operational stakeholders to plan, monitor, and execute initiatives that deliver measurable business value on scope, on time, and on budget.

Many CPM programs involve technology enablement, data, workflow automation, and system integrations. As such, this role requires strong program management discipline combined with technical fluency to effectively partner with McKesson Technology (MT), architects, engineers, and product teams. The individual translates complex technical and operational concepts into clear business implications while ensuring alignment across legal, compliance, finance, operations, and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Delivery

  • Serves as the primary lead driving end to end CPM programs and projects, including contract, pricing, rebate, and compliance related initiatives across McKesson.

  • Provides organization, coordination, and leadership for cross functional teams to ensure CPM deliverables and milestones are achieved.

  • Develops and maintains detailed program plans including scope, deliverables, goals, budgets, dependencies, and timelines.

  • Ensures CPM workstreams execute according to the integrated program plan and proactively identifies and resolves roadblocks.

  • Monitors program status, KPIs, and qualitative and quantitative metrics, providing clear visibility to CPM and enterprise leadership.

  • Conducts regular program and SteerCo reviews to communicate progress, risks, decisions required, and next steps.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Communication Champion

  • Identifies, documents, and mitigates key risks, issues, and dependencies across CPM programs, recommending actions to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Acts as the central connector across executives, cross functional partners, workstream leads, and technical teams, ensuring communication is clear, timely, and audience appropriate.

  • Translates complex CPM updates including risks, compliance implications, operational impacts, and technical dependencies into concise, actionable executive insights.

  • Elevates risks and decision points with context, options, and recommended paths forward for Sponsors and SteerCo.

  • Maintains high program visibility through consistent reporting cadences, dashboards, and milestone tracking.

  • Drives alignment and accountability across CPM stakeholders by setting clear expectations and fostering transparency.

Cross Functional and Technical Collaboration

  • Serves as a key liaison between CPM business leaders, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Product, and MT to ensure shared understanding and alignment.

  • Partners closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure CPM solutions and processes meet regulatory and contractual requirements.

  • Works with Product and MT to ensure CPM requirements are appropriately scoped, prioritized, and reflected in delivery plans.

  • Facilitates structured problem solving and decision making aligned to CPM strategic objectives.

Technical and Solution Alignment

  • Engages directly with architects, engineers, and technical product partners to understand CPM solution options, system constraints, integrations, and feasibility.

  • Translates system behaviors, data flows, and solution designs into clear updates for nontechnical and executive audiences.

  • Maintains visibility into CPM technical workstreams to proactively surface dependencies, risks, and blockers.

  • Collaborates with MT partners to ensure CPM requirements are captured, validated, and tracked through delivery and implementation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience, typically requiring 10 or more years of relevant experience. Fewer years required with relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications.

Critical Skills

  • Eight or more years of experience leading large scale, cross functional programs in highly matrixed environments, preferably within CPM, legal, pricing, or compliance domains.

  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

  • Experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Product teams on complex, regulated initiatives.

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, drug supply chain, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Technically fluent and comfortable partnering with MT and engineering teams. Strong systems thinker who connects process, data, and technology execution to business outcomes.

  • Robust understanding of program and project management methodologies and tools.

  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.

  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.

  • Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and multiple stakeholders in fast paced environments.

  • Strategic problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Travel

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Candidates must be authorized to work in USA. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$134,900 - $224,800
