Salesforce Solution Lead

About the Role

The Salesforce Solution Lead sets the direction for complex enterprise Salesforce solutions and transforms strategy into measurable business outcomes. This role connects business priorities, technology roadmaps, operational needs, and investment decisions while guiding cross-functional teams through delivery and continuous improvement. As a trusted partner to senior business and technology leaders, you will create clarity across competing priorities, strengthen governance, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned to enterprise goals.

What You'll Do

  • Own delivery and execution management for enterprise Salesforce solution portfolios, translating strategy and roadmaps into clear outcomes, milestones, governance, and performance measures.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships and communicate decisions, trade-offs, progress, and business value to senior business and technology leaders.
  • Lead planning, prioritization, and dependency management across initiatives, balancing customer value, risk, cost, capacity, technical sustainability, and strategic goals.
  • Drive risk, issue, and problem management across business, technology, vendors, and operations; establish mitigation plans and lead resolution of complex blockers.
  • Orchestrate multidisciplinary teams, Solution Managers, strategic partners, and vendors to deliver and operate enterprise Salesforce solutions consistently.
  • Shape demand, business cases, investment recommendations, budgets, cost optimization opportunities, and value-realization measures.
  • Align solution delivery with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, regulatory, compliance, service management, and Salesforce platform standards.
  • Champion adoption, organizational change, continuous improvement, and responsible innovation based on performance data, customer outcomes, and market trends.

Basic Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in enterprise solution management, Salesforce delivery, technology delivery, portfolio/program management, or a related field; equivalent education and experience considered, with less experience acceptable when supported by a relevant master's or doctoral degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale Salesforce solution strategy, roadmap development, delivery, operations, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios, cross-functional dependencies, risks, issues, executive stakeholders, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience developing business cases, prioritizing investments, managing budgets, and evaluating cost, value, and return on investment.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture, technology governance, cybersecurity, compliance, service management, and Salesforce platform capabilities.
  • Clear examples of leading multidisciplinary teams, vendors, or strategic partners through complex delivery and change.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or Salesforce Application/System Architect are preferred.
  • Experience coaching Solution Managers or other delivery leaders and establishing consistent standards, operating models, or governance practices.
  • Advanced communication, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with executive and technical audiences.
  • Experience with Agile, product, program, portfolio, IT service management, or value-stream practices.
  • Experience using metrics such as adoption, service performance, customer outcomes, investment value, operational effectiveness, and platform health to guide decisions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, connect strategy to execution, and influence across a matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Experience evaluating emerging Salesforce capabilities and related technologies, translating opportunities into practical, governed solution improvements.

Working Conditions

Flex & Connect work model with a requirement to be in the office two (2) days per week.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$122,100 - $162,800
