The Product Quality Manager leads and develops a team of Product Quality Specialists to ensure Product Quality activities are executed effectively, consistently, and in compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.


The role provides management oversight of Product Quality operations, including batch acceptance, investigations, CAPA, change control, product disposition, quarantine management, and new product support. The position achieves results through people leadership, prioritisation, coaching, accountability, and effective operational oversight.


The Product Quality Manager is expected to foster a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, collaboration, and employee development aligned with McKesson I2CARE values and LEADRx leadership expectations.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Quality Specialists.

  • Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with departmental objectives.

  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to support employee growth and performance.

  • Build team capability through training, succession planning, and talent development.

  • Ensure team members have the appropriate training, resources, and support to perform their roles effectively.

  • Foster an inclusive, engaged, and accountable team culture.

  • Role model McKesson values and LEADRx behaviours through day-to-day leadership.

Product Quality Oversight

  • Ensure Product Quality activities are executed in accordance with internal procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Provide oversight of batch acceptance and product disposition activities performed by the Product Quality team.

  • Ensure investigations, CAPA, and change control activities are managed effectively and completed within established timelines.

  • Ensure appropriate oversight and execution of quarantine, release, rejection, and disposition activities by the Product Quality team.

  • Ensure quality risks are identified, assessed, escalated, and managed appropriately.

  • Ensure effective quality oversight throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introduction and ongoing product maintenance.

  • Ensure significant quality, compliance, or supply risks are communicated and escalated appropriately.

Operational Management

  • Manage team workload, priorities, and resources to support departmental objectives.

  • Monitor operational performance and key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure Product Quality commitments are completed in a timely and compliant manner.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness within Product Quality processes.

  • Support implementation of process improvements, digital solutions, and automation initiatives.

  • Promote data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across the team.

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and internal policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build effective working relationships with Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Operations, Technical Services, Commercial teams, and external partners.

  • Partner with stakeholders to address quality issues and support business objectives.

  • Represent Product Quality during inspections, audits, supplier interactions, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Communicate quality risks, operational performance, priorities, and key issues to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Support a collaborative approach to problem solving and decision-making across the organisation.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Critical Skills

  • Experience within pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Product Quality, Quality Control, or a related GxP-regulated environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop others; formal supervisory or management experience is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working within quality systems, investigations, CAPA, change control, and risk management processes.

  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with quality metrics, reporting tools, and digital technologies that support quality operations.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid working model.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

€55,500 - €92,500
