The Senior Manager, Change Management &Transformationis responsible fordesigning, leading, and operationalizing enterprise-wide change initiatives at SCRI. This role serves as a senior change leader, partnering closely with executive sponsors, operational leaders, and transformation teams to ensure strategic initiatives are successfully adopted, sustained, and embedded into how the organization works.

This role leads and coaches a team of changemanagersproviding strategic oversight across large-scale, complex initiatives with significant people and organizational impact. The Senior Manager applies structured change management methodologies, advanced stakeholder engagement techniques, and data-driven adoption strategies to improve business outcomes, employee experience, and organizational readiness. Success in this role requires deepexpertisein change management, strong influencing skills, and the ability to lead across a highly matrixed clinical and research environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the change strategy for high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment to SCRI’s strategic priorities and operating model.

  • Serve as the primary change advisor to executive sponsors and senior leaders, guiding them through complex organizational, behavioral, and cultural change.

  • Design and oversee comprehensive change management plans, including stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, communication strategies, training approaches, readiness measures, and sustainment plans.

  • Ensure change strategies are proactively integrated into project and program delivery—not treated as downstream activities.

  • Build strong, trust-based partnerships with senior leaders, enabling them to visibly and effectively sponsor change.

  • Setenterprise direction forchangecommunications across strategic initiatives and organizational transformations, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with SCRI priorities. 

  • Ownthe communication strategy for complex programs and organizational changes, including executive messaging, enterprise updates, and readiness communications. 

  • Adviseand partner with executive sponsors and senior leaders on messaging, sequencing, and escalation related tohighimpactchange initiatives. 

  • Ensuretimelyescalation of material risks, adoption challenges, and change impacts to internal leadership and external partners, enabling informeddecisionmaking. 

  • Providegovernance and oversight forchangecommunications delivered by program teams, ensuring quality, consistency, and effectiveness across the portfolio. 

  • Aligninternal and external partner communications to support successful delivery, adoption, and sustainment of enterprise initiatives. 

  • Establishmechanisms to assess message effectiveness and stakeholder sentiment, using insights to refine communication strategies and reinforce adoption.

  • Prepare leaders to lead change through targeted coaching, messaging, and engagement strategies.

  • Directly manage and mentor Program ManagersandChange Managers, setting clear expectationsfor changeexcellence.

  • Build enterprise change capability by coaching teams, introducing standardized change frameworks, tools, and best practices, and fostering a culture of adoption-focused delivery.

  • Partner with theDirectorof Strategy & Transformation to support prioritization and sequencing of initiatives from achangecapacity and readiness perspective.

  • Maintain awareness of cumulative change impacts across the organization and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce change fatigue and risk.

  • Define and track adoption, readiness, and sustainment metrics to assess change effectiveness and inform course corrections.

  • Ensure implemented changes are reinforced through governance, performance measures, and operational ownershippostimplementation.

  • Identifyopportunities to improve SCRI’s changemanagementmaturity, tools, and governance.

  • Propose and implement enhancements that improve how the organization absorbs and sustains change over time.

Knowledge: A body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience.

  • Change management and project management techniques and tools

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the research environment and healthcare processes.

  • Strong workingrelationshipwith leadership whichallowsfor quick problem resolution and staffsupport.

  • Experience leadingenterprise widestrategicinitiativeswithlarge changeimpacts.


Skills: The proficiency to perform a certain task.

  • Senior-level facilitation, influencing, and executive communication skills 

  • Stakeholderengagement and conflict navigation across diverse audiences 

  • Coachingand people leadership skills, including developing change practitioners 

  • Data-informeddecision-makingusing adoption and readiness metrics 

  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complexity into clear, compelling messages

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree required

  • 7+ years of experience in program management

  • 2+ years of experience in people management

  • Experience leading enterprise‑wide strategic initiatives with significant organizational change impacts

  • Prosci Change Management Certification or equivalent required

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt highly preferred

This role is hybrid in Nashville, TN.
