Le Directeur (trice), Gestion de catégorie, est responsable de l'élaboration et de la mise en œuvre de stratégies de catégories innovantes et rentables pour les bannières Uniprix et Proxim. Ce rôle clé vise à maximiser les ventes, les revenus et les marges détails. Optimiser l'assortiment de produits, les prix, les promotions et le placement en magasin afin d'améliorer l'expérience client et de maximiser la performance commerciale des pharmacies.
Responsabilités du poste
- Développer et communiquer les stratégies de catégories complètes, alignées sur les objectifs d'affaires et les besoins des clients pour les bannières Uniprix et Proxim.
- Analyser les données de vente, les tendances du marché, les analyses de la concurrence et les comportements d'achat des consommateurs afin d'identifier des opportunités de croissance.
- Développer et outiller les gestionnaires de catégories pour la gestion de l'assortiment de produits pour chaque catégorie, incluant l'introduction de nouveaux produits, la rationalisation des gammes existantes et la gestion du cycle de vie des produits.
- Négocier les ententes avec les fournisseurs pour obtenir les meilleures conditions commerciales, les prix, les promotions et le support au programme de fidélité.
- Maintien de bonnes relations d'affaires avec les partenaires.
- Établir et gérer les prix des produits pour optimiser la marge et la compétitivité.
- Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes marketing pour développer et mettre en œuvre des plans promotionnels efficaces et des campagnes publicitaires.
- Travailler en partenariat avec les équipes d'opérations et d'aménagement pour assurer une exécution optimale en magasin, incluant les planogrammes, l'exécution de la circulaire et du programme bas prix longue durée.
- Suivre et évaluer la performance des catégories, identifier les écarts et proposer des actions correctives.
- Préparer et présenter des rapports de performance réguliers à la direction.
- Se tenir informé des innovations et des meilleures pratiques de l'industrie pour maintenir un avantage concurrentiel.
Qualifications du poste
- Baccalauréat en administration des affaires, marketing ou dans un domaine connexe. Une maîtrise (MBA) est un atout.
- Minimum de 8 à 10 ans d'expérience pertinente en gestion de catégorie, en développement de produits ou en marketing, idéalement dans l'industrie du détail, de la pharmacie ou des biens de consommation.
- Au moins 3 à 5 ans d'expérience en leadership/gestion
- Expérience avérée dans la gestion de catégories pour des bannières multiples ou un réseau de franchisés.
- Maîtrise des outils d'analyse de données (par ex., Nielsen, PowerBI) et excellente capacité d'interprétation des données pour prendre des décisions stratégiques.
- Compétences exceptionnelles en négociation et en gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs.
- Fortes aptitudes analytiques, de résolution de problèmes et de prise de décision.
- Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite, en français et en anglais (bilinguisme requis).
- Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe dans un environnement dynamique et en constante évolution.

The Director, Category Management, is responsible for developing and implementing innovative and profitable category strategies for the Uniprix and Proxim banners. This key role aims to maximize sales, revenue, and retail margins. Optimize product assortment, pricing, promotions, and in-store placement to improve the customer experience and maximize pharmacy sales performance.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and communicate comprehensive category strategies aligned with business objectives and customer needs for the Uniprix and Proxim banners.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, competitive analyses, and consumer purchasing behaviors to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and equip category managers to manage the product assortment for each category, including introducing new products, streamlining existing ranges, and managing product life cycles.
- Negotiate agreements with suppliers to obtain the best commercial terms, prices, promotions, and loyalty program support.
- Maintain good business relationships with partners.
- Establish and manage product prices to optimize margins and competitiveness.
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop and implement promotional plans.
- Work in partnership with operations and merchandising teams to ensure optimal in-store execution, including planograms, flyer execution, and long-term low price programs.
- Monitor and evaluate category performance, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.

Job qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree (MBA) is an asset.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in category management, product development, or marketing, ideally in the retail, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industry.
- Minimum 3-5 years of leadership/management experience
- Proven experience in category management for multiple banners or a franchise network.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Nielsen, PowerBI) and excellent ability to interpret data to make strategic decisions.
- Exceptional negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English (bilingualism required).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.
- Leadership, proactivity, and results-oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States.
