Junior Business Analyst Intern

Job Summary

As a member of the McKesson Technology, Biopharma and Provider Technologies team, the Junior Business Analyst (Intern) will support business analysis activities across application development, enhancements, and operational initiatives.

Working closely with a Senior Business Systems Analyst, this role will assist with documenting business requirements, analyzing business processes, supporting testing activities, and maintaining project documentation. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to enterprise healthcare technology, IT delivery methodologies, and cross‑functional collaboration within a regulated environment.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Business Systems Analyst in gathering and documenting business requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining functional documentation, including:
    • Business requirements
    • User stories
    • Process flows
    • Business rules
  • Help document current‑state and future‑state business processes and system functionality.
  • Participate in requirements review sessions and incorporate feedback under supervision.
  • Assist with impact analysis for small enhancements or defect fixes.
  • Support application testing activities, including:
    • Test case documentation
    • Test execution support
    • Defect logging and tracking
  • Maintain project documentation in tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Assist with data validation, basic analysis, and reconciliation activities as required.
  • Support change adoption activities by helping prepare user communication or training materials.
  • Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Learn and follow McKesson Canada IT methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and operational objectives.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a Bachelor’s program in:
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Business Analysis
    • Health Informatics
    • Or a related field
  • Interest in business analysis, systems analysis, or healthcare technology.
  • Prior internship, co‑op, or academic project experience is an asset but not required.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is an asset.
  • Exposure to tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of business processes and requirements documentation.
  • Willingness to learn enterprise applications (e.g., Salesforce, .NET‑based systems).

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $17.69 - $27.74
