Health Mart Atlas is the largest PSAO (Pharmacy Services Administration Organization) offering industry-leading, centralized managed care solutions to over 7,000 independent and small & medium chain pharmacies, nationwide. Health Mart Atlas obtains and manages third-party contracts, improves revenue cycles, and decreases the time spent dealing with PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) issues. Health Mart Atlas provides its members with the scale and leverage needed to effectively compete in today’s marketplace to gain access to patients and preferred networks.

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and executing regional strategies to help the Health Mart Atlas network improve business results. The Account Manager will be responsible for customer engagement by driving awareness to our Access-To-Lives strategy, adoption of our value-added programs and services, and execution for current pharmacy accounts.  The Account Manager will continually demonstrate the value of Health Mart Atlas and support with retention activities to grow the business relationship with our Community and Retail pharmacies.

The Account Manager must have the ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate effectively with individuals from other departments and business units and to have an excellent understanding of community and retail pharmacy industry, comfort with learning and educating others on managed care topics; e.g. reimbursement rates, MAC pricing, preferred networks, Pharmacy performance (operational & clinical),  and the PBM and Payor market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management through influence, and in-person/ virtual interactions with customers to educate them on key components of our Strategy, and our value proposition, and drive adoption of programs that improve customers’ operational and clinical performance.

  • Facilitate communication/execution of customer results, McKesson results, future initiatives and planning.

  • Work collaboratively with the Community and Retail pharmacy field team to retain business for McKesson and Health Mart Atlas.

  • Create working relationship with select Community and Retailcustomers and provide quarterly business reviews and supporting data and reports that demonstrates the value and drives action with customer.

  • Maintain regular communication with the field and Health Mart Atlas sales teams. Serve as a SME, and participate in regional meetings/calls to provide training, follow-up, best practice communication/execution, customer results, Health Mart Atlas initiatives and planning.

  • Increase the Health Mart Atlas network satisfaction resulting in customer retention, company profitability and pharmacy growth.

  • Analyze store performance and conduct targeted pharmacy support calls /visits to provide education, feedback, guidance and training in order to impact overall business results.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education

4-year degree or equivalent experience

Critical Skills

  • 4+ years in business or sales experience

  • Working knowledge of the retail pharmacy business and the managed care space (i.e. Pharmacy Benefit Management, Narrow Networks, MAC pricing).

  • Excellent project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage through influence and manage and navigate a large geography. 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal/written), and management skills.

  • Field experience with a national or regional sales team or inside home office experience a plus.

  • Existing Account Management Experience a plus.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$77,100 - $128,500
