This positionis responsible forthe collection of client receivablesin accordance withcontractual agreements.This includesreview,maintenance and resolution of disputes,reviewof Clinical Trial revenue and expenses, review ofstudy accounts receivableaging,patient accounts and pass through invoices, study finance trackers, patienttrackersand contracts, as well as interaction with various departments in order to determine the validity of charges as well as the collection of those charges from sponsors. Additionally, this positionprovides assistance tothe Finance and Budget & Contracts departments on specificallyidentifiedprojects and tasks listed below. This often involves analyzing multiple documents and often complex data todeterminecollectabilityof receivables.

Dutiesinclude but are not limited to:

  • Monitor assigned accounts: review aging, look for irregularities, non-payments, and delayed payments in customer accounts

  • Contact Sponsors/CROs via phone to follow on unpaid/open invoices and ensuretimelypayments are received

  • Investigate and resolvesponsor,patientandcustomer disputes

  • Maintaining a strong business relationship with the Sponsors/CROs as the primary contact and voice for Sarah Cannon Research Institutein regards topayment of receivables

  • Reconcile financial study data with data provided by Sponsors/CROs as needed

  • Review, interpret and discuss contracts internally and with clients toassistwith resolving payment or dispute issues

  • Review medical procedure invoices in relation to the contracts todetermineeligibility for reimbursement of costs

  • Facilitate AR write-offs and route needed contractual amendments to Budgets & Contracts when needed

  • Identify, report on and work with supervisor to resolve trends that negativelyimpactpayment or workflows

  • Work with other departments (i.e.Accounting, Treasury, Contracting) to resolve billing questions as needed

  • Respond to requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit and other internal management as requested by supervisor

  • Ensure that tasks are completed within established deadlines

  • Maintain productivity tracker and meet productivity and quality standards

  • Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved 

  • Communicate concerns or issues to your direct supervisortimelyand with a proposed solution

  • Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure

  • All other duties as assigned

Mandatory:The following are mandatory expectations of all SCRIemployees.

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.

  • During your employment with SCRI,you willbe routinelyassigned training requirements. You are expected to complete any training assignments by the due date.

Knowledge:A body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education,trainingor experience.

  • Research techniques to analyze and evaluate financial data and information

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks/Excel

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge and ability to interpret and analyze complex contractual language

  • Knowledge and ability to review, interpret and explain contractual budgets

  • Understanding of FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act-Commercial or B2B)

Skills:Theproficiencyto perform a certain task.

  • PC-based spreadsheet and word processing programs

  • Effective organizational skills

Abilities:An underlying, enduring trait useful for performing duties.

  • Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows through on outstanding issues for resolution

  • Organizes work independently and consistently to achieve reporting deadlines

  • Performs mathematical computations accurately

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, experience may be substituted for education

  • 1+ year work experience reading and comprehending complex documents and identify financial impacts

  • Clinical Research experience highly preferred

  • Understanding of clinical financial systems and EMRs
