18 month contract

Section A -SpecificResponsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary customer service meeting the standards of McKesson Canada; customer interaction islargely donevia phoneandemail

  • Creating patient files in pharmacy softwareincludingKroll 

  • Managing site calendars, appointment changes,dispensingand shipping schedules

  • Accurately dispensing medications to ensure arrival to theappropriate destinationwithin timelines

  • Understandingthird party billing and resolving issues by contacting adjudicators andplan administratorsfor resolutions

  • Billing prescriptions through pharmacy software ensuring all required documentation is adequate andappropriate including(but not limited to) accounts receivables,dosageand dosing intervals, third party billing restrictions, scheduled appointment dates, clinic locations, copayment management, coordination of benefits,andassignment of benefits

  •  Accuratelyschedulingand dispensing medications to ensure arrival to theappropriate destinationon time

  • Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating Procedures of McKesson and all applicable regulatory requirements

  • Developing andmaintainingprofessional relationshipswith externaland internal contacts, healthcare professionals,stakeholders, clients, reimbursement coordinators, provincialministriesandprivate payers

  • Patient follow-up calls for outstanding accountsandrefills and shipment scheduling

  • Ensuring that all medical questions are referred to aPharmacistwhen interacting with patients

  • Packaging medications according to specifications for shipment to customer

  • Other duties, including receiving and inventory management and reconciliation,as assigned by the supervisingPharmacists /Supervisor

Section B- KeyRequirements :

Knowledge:

  • Secondary School Diploma

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of a retail pharmacy setting 

  • Ability to workin afast-pacedsetting andstrongattentionto detailabilities

  • Ability to learn newsoftware programs. Knowledge of Kroll is an asset

  • Organizational,time managementandteamworkskills

  • Accountable and result-oriented

  • This position requires a significant degree of taking direction quickly, self-starting and independence

Experience :

  • At least1yearsin a retail pharmacy/hospital setting. 

  • Experience inspecialty pharmacy setting an asset, but notrequired

Section C- Supervision and Communication:

  • Communication :Proficientin EnglishOral and Written Communication.Multilingualism is an asset

  • DirectReports :N/A

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$36,000 - $59,600
