Job Summary

The Director, Shared Support Services is a critical leadership role within McKesson Canada’s Specialty Health division, responsible for delivering strategic and operational support to accelerate business performance. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Execution & Operational Excellence, this leader acts as a trusted business partner, enabling data-driven decision-making and unlocking value for McKesson and its biopharma and provider customers.

This position leads a diverse, multidisciplinary team across Contract Management, Training, and Operations Support, and is accountable for fostering a high-performance culture, driving operational excellence, and aligning initiatives with Specialty Health’s broader strategic roadmap. Success in this role depends on strong cross-functional collaboration, strategic insight, and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

Location: 2300 Meadowvale Blvd, Mississauga, ON

Work Arrangement:This is ahybrid positionrequiring candidates to workon-site at least 2 days per weekat our designated office location. The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business needs.

Specific Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, develop, and empower the Shared Support Services team, creating a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Promote a collaborative, customer-centric mindset that aligns with McKesson’s mission and long-term goals.

Contract Management, Billing Compliance & Risk Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction to the Contract Management function, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business needs.
  • Lead the evolution of a Contract Management Centre of Excellence to standardize processes, embed best practices, and improve cycle times.
  • Establish and maintain a robust billing compliance framework, ensuring that contract terms—such as service fees, billing triggers, and pricing changes—are accurately implemented and auditable
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Operational leaders to manage contractual risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of dashboards and tracking systems for monitoring contract performance and compliance KPIs.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to business units on complex contract negotiations, renewals, and escalations.

Training Strategy & Capability Building

  • In partnership with the Senior Manager, lead the development and execution of enterprise-aligned training strategies to support organizational transformation and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify training needs and deliver scalable, role-specific learning solutions.
  • Ensure training content and delivery methods are modern, engaging, and measurable— leveraging digital platforms, blended learning, and performance analytics.
  • Champion a culture of learning and development across Specialty Health, enabling teams to adapt to evolving business priorities and customer expectations.

Operational Excellence & Performance Enablement

  • Oversee the development and governance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across project management, change control, and documentation.
  • Establish performance measurement frameworks using tools like Power BI to enhance visibility, track outcomes, and drive accountability.
  • Lead audit readiness efforts by ensuring documentation, processes, and controls are in place and aligned with internal and external audit requirements; partner with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and address audit risks and support timely resolution of findings.
  • Oversight and maintenance of business continuity plans for Specialty Health, ensuring operational resilience and preparedness in the face of disruptions.

Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Act as a strategic advisor to Specialty Health verticals, supporting priority initiatives and driving execution at pace.
  • Build strong partnerships with Finance, Quality, and other corporate functions to ensure integration, alignment, and shared success.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to continuously adapt support services to meet the evolving needs of the business and its customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; MBA or Master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience ideally in the healthcare or biopharmaceutical industry, experience with patient support programs, pharmacy operations, or specialty healthcare is a strong asset.

  • Ability to develop and facilitate high quality presentations.
  • Ability to approach issues from several perspectives, summarizing data to draw a conclusion, excellent analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office products (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word) and hands-on experience with Power BI

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$124,800 - $208,000
