Finance Leadership Program and Project Manager

Current Need

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Manager, Finance Leadership Program (FLP) to provide thought leadership, program operations and delivery support for the developmental program aligned to Enterprise Finance. The McKesson Finance Leadership Program focuses on identifying experienced MBA graduate and student hires external to the company and providing them with exposure to several business/functional experiences within the Finance organization.

Position Overview

The Manager, Finance Leadership Program reports to the VP of HR, who drives talent strategy and leadership development across Corporate Finance. This role will be responsible to engage and influence decision making of senior leaders within the businesses and functions that serve on steering committees that sponsor and serve as host teams for the rotational employees. This role will be a coach and guide participants in the rotational programs, and be a single point of continuity for these emerging leaders as they transition between assignments.

Project management:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the development/implementation of projects and programs involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or program from the design process through a finished state for customers. Collaborates effectively with all areas included in the project. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with key stakeholders on all matters. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet project timelines and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports throughout the project. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for the integration of vendor tasks into project deliverable.
  • Document and develop process maps for new/existing processes that reflect current and future states
  • Encourage and promote a collaborative environment
  • Instill a culture of personal and professional engagement among all members of the team

A successful candidate will demonstrate consistent ability to balance the execution of ongoing business critical projects while also taking on ad-hoc assignments as requested.

Additional administrative duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads project management, communication, and budget efforts to ensure program delivery is within parameters and looks for opportunities to optimize spend or deliver productivity back to the organization.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition and business leadership to execute and evaluate sourcing and training strategy to ensure the hiring of diverse future leaders of the organization. Create and track success measures of program and make improvements with each class.
  • Leads the employee development processes through data and analysis needs for talent management initiatives, including the talent review and planning processes.
  • Leads the delivery of the Finance Leadership Program/assessments to enable more efficient, scalable and cost-effective execution within the business unit/functions.

  • Partners with internal consultants and partners to procure and implement training offerings; based on direction of leadership. Manages processes and communications with stakeholders to ensure training meets/exceeds expectations.
  • Partner with the Workforce Planning & Analytics team (WPA) to produce periodic workforce dashboards for HR and BU executives to include: workforce analytics and planning initiatives, including HR Scorecard, HR Quarterly Report, Workforce Indicators, Diversity, and People Planning.
  • Deliver other HR projects as necessary to support HR Programs and Processes for Corporate Finance.

Education and Training Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in project management, program management, or human resources/talent management disciplines required

Additional Education, but not required

Graduate degree: MBA, Human Resources, Organizational Development

  • Development of evaluation and survey tools, with supervision
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$88,200 - $147,000
