Title: Counsel - CoverMyMeds

Location: Columbus, Ohio (Required)

Hybrid/Remote/Onsite: Hybrid

Requirement: Position will require 3 days per week onsite in Columbus, Ohio

What You’ll Do

Like most growing companies, the job content of all positions varies daily as everyone pitches in to get the job done. Nonetheless, we try to maintain clarity with respect to employees’ primary responsibilities. 

This position will provide broad support for CoverMyMeds’ pharmaceutical access and adherence services, including highly innovative technology offerings involving concepts which include artificial intelligence utilization, various types of technology integration, and human service components. The successful candidate should possess exceptional professional judgment and provide decisive day-to-day legal counseling and advice to all levels of the organization, including all the following:

  • Have a deep understanding of contracts, including typical terms expected in pharmaceutical manufactures agreements in “hub” and patient assistance programs;
  • Substantial experience with Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, TCPA, and fraud, waste, and abuse laws; experience with pharmacy laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts (both sales and purchasing) with the ability to partner with the sales/account management team in doing so;
  • Identify, analyze, research, and resolve complex legal and business issues, and where needed, make appropriate recommendations to business colleagues;
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional environment to help identify and mitigate business, legal, and compliance risk;
  • Work hand-in-hand with the privacy, compliance, and information security teams to ensure compliance with internal CoverMyMeds business and legal processes and policies;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders of all kinds regarding a broad range of issues while demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of CoverMyMeds’ products, strategy, and operational model; and
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is a plus.

About You

  • You have a demonstrated ability to conduct complex initiatives in a self-directed manner, with minimal oversight and to deliver superior results in a timely manner. You must prioritize multiple, ongoing initiatives and efficiently re-prioritize such responsibilities, as changing business needs require. You work through ambiguity and remain flexible under pressure.
  • At least 5-7 years' experience in a related environment (negotiation experience required); willing to consider hiring into a higher position for candidates with substantially more relevant experience;
  • Experience working with other “hub” service providers and/or experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers, especially commercialization/brand teams related to patient support programs;
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, able to interact with all audiences at all levels of the organization;
  • Proven track record of successful client engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Focused on delivering solutions that align with CoverMyMeds’ strategic goals.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate and bar licensure in at least one state (REQUIRED)

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$103,500 - $172,500
