Summary
The Enterprise Program Manager for Automation and Agentic AI is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the strategic vision, execution, and governance of automation and artificial intelligence initiatives across the organization. This individual will oversee the planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex, enterprise-wide programs that leverage automation, machine learning, and agentic (autonomous, goal-driven) AI to transform business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous innovation.
What You'll Do
Define and own the overall automation and agentic AI program strategy in alignment with the enterprise’s vision, mission, and goals.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for automation and agentic AI application across business units.
Promote a roadmap for innovation, incorporating emerging technologies and industry best practices into the enterprise’s automation and AI landscape.
Lead the end-to-end management of multiple, concurrent automation and agentic AI projects and workstreams.
Establish and maintain a program governance framework to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with corporate objectives.
Manage program scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, resources, driving timely and effective delivery.
Report on program progress, outcomes, and key performance indicators to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, including executive sponsors, business leaders, IT, data science, and operations.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication, ensuring stakeholder needs and expectations are understood and addressed.
Champion change management, fostering enterprise-wide adoption of automation and AI solutions.
Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of automation platforms, agentic AI solutions, and supporting technologies.
Collaborate with technical teams to establish architectural standards, integration patterns, and data governance models.
Drive the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and compliant automation and AI applications.
Monitor advancements in AI, agent-based systems, and automation, recommending relevant innovations and partnerships.
Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate risks associated with automation and AI programs, including technical, operational, regulatory, and ethical risks.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and policies on data security, privacy, and responsible AI.
Establish and enforce robust governance for the ethical deployment of agentic AI systems throughout the enterprise.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing cross-functional program teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Drive knowledge sharing, training, and talent development initiatives for automation and AI across the organization.
Define and track key metrics to assess program effectiveness, business value, and ROI of automation and agentic AI initiatives.
Lead post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and inform future program enhancements.
What You Bring
15+ years of progressive experience in program or project management, including at least 5 years leading large-scale digital, automation, or AI transformation programs in complex enterprise environments.
Demonstrated expertise in automation platforms (e.g., RPA, workflow automation), AI/ML frameworks, and agentic AI concepts.
Proven ability to deliver business outcomes using agile, hybrid, and traditional project management methodologies.
Experience with vendor management, partner engagement, and technology evaluation.
Strong track record in change management and driving enterprise adoption of new technologies.
Deep understanding of automation, machine learning, agent-based systems, and AI ethics.
Familiarity with cloud computing, big data, API integrations, and enterprise architecture.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and influencing at all levels.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Minimum requirements
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 13+ years, with 8+ years, of direct work related experience. Less years required if has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications

Demonstrated success in scaling automation and AI programs globally.
Thought leadership contributions in AI, automation, or digital transformation communities.
Public speaking, publishing, or teaching experience on topics related to AI or automation.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
