The Sr. Pricing Analyst, Strategic Pricing is responsible for the strategic analysis & implementation of sell-side pricing for the SP&P Specialty Generics portfolio. To be successful, this position will need to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, apply critical thinking, propose creative solutions to solve complex problems, model economics with strong attention to detail, execute swiftly on deliverables without considerable direction, and summarize key findings/assumptions/decision points to provide to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose & implement strategic pricing recommendations, incorporating factors such as competitive market dynamics, buy-side cost structures, manufacturer market share commitments, and customer loyalty to optimize gross profit

  • Collaborate closely with SP&P Portfolio Team to support multi-source portfolio strategy and highlight products where we are at a competitive disadvantage in the market

  • Engage with Sales Teams to drive competitive intelligence & market insights

  • Support RFP efforts with Gx portfolio analysis for new business opportunities & existing customer contract renewals

  • Analyze customer price match requests, factoring in competitive details, purchase history, margin impact, and other inputs to determine appropriate response

  • Partner with SP&P Analytics Team on sell-side analytics enhancements and process improvement opportunities

  • Create monthly Gx pricing forecast, highlighting sell-side trends & risks to SP&P FP&A team

  • Identify & propose promotional pricing opportunities to win back lost volume

  • Perform ad hoc customer and/or portfolio analysis

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field

Critical Skills

  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of the business of healthcare, drug distribution, GPO, physician practices/groups focused on specialty care, industry trends, public reimbursement models and payer contracting

  • Experience navigating through complex issues to interpret and transform financial data into recommendations to senior leadership

  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite, SAP, and PowerBI required. SAP highly preferred.

  • Strategic thinker & problem solver, skilled in quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Experience with financial modeling

  • Strong attention to detail & accuracy

  • Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive deliverables in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment

  • Good interpersonal & collaboration skills to navigate matrixed organizations

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Traditional office environment.

Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.)

  • Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$100,800 - $168,000
