We are seeking a Customer Strategy Lead in Richmond, VA to play a pivotal role managing a portfolio of strategic initiatives that will enable us to unlock value across several large customer segments in the Enterprise Sales team. The role will report directly to the VP, Enterprise Customer Strategy, Enterprise Sales.

The Customer Strategy Lead will serve as a strategic thought partner to the Enterprise Sales leadership team driving clarity, insight and action across the organization. They will lead initiatives that will shape the future of our business by identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities, analyzing emerging industry and business trends and translating data into strategic direction.

The role demands a sharp analytical mind, a bias for action and the ability to connect the dots across markets, customers, internal teams and capabilities.The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle complex projects with multiple stakeholders.This person will need to be a change agent.They must be flexible and fluent in managing large-scale projects and programs and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.They will regularly interact with senior leadership and across the team on matters concerning functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.They will be at the center of strategic decision making by designing and implementing initiatives that enhance our partnerships with our customers and advance our mission to deliver better care for all.

Position Description:

  • Develop and deliver insights that inform Enterprise Sales leaders and stakeholders
  • Lead strategic projects focused on market analysis, portfolio evaluation and growth opportunities
  • Own analytical workstreams to facilitate business problem solving and present hypotheses and recommendations
  • Partner cross-functionally to align strategy with execution
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • Highly visible role with regular engagement across senior leadership

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business analyst or relevant healthcare industry experience
  • Proven experience in data-driven decision-making and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions and influence without authority

Critical Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking: ability to connect market signals and performance with business implications to inform pragmatic strategics for business opportunities
  • Analytical Rigor: skilled in structuring ambiguous problems and synthesizing insights to deliver actionable recommendations
  • Growth Orientation: experience identifying and enabling business opportunities and proficiency in evaluating market potential
  • Financial Acumen: understanding and competency with financial modeling; experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation a plus
  • Communication: strong written and verbal skills; skilled in translating diverse perspectives into actionable senior-level messaging
  • Healthcare Fluency: knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare

Education:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • General office demands.
  • Occasional travel, around 20%

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$117,000 - $195,000
