Senior Industrial Engineer

Current Need:


We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to support our McKesson Medical-Surgical (MMS) distribution centers to focus on process standardization with an emphasis toward McKesson’s MMS iWin incentive and accountability program.

NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR THIS ROLE.

TARGET SALARY $120-130k

BONUS TARGET: 15%

Job Purpose/Position Description

Support MMS distribution centers in the accountability, development, and implementation of fair, reasonable, and attainable labor standards for all DC operations. Educate all DC front-line operations leadership to ensure knowledge and understanding of JDA (Blue Yonder) labor management systems (LMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and accountability through iWIN (incentive program). Partner in collaboration with DC operation teams to ensure compliance and adherence with standardized processes, identify areas for continuous improvement, and drive a culture of lean, least-waste operations.

This is a full-time position with up to 50% US travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on return-on-investment calculations.
  • Complete solo assessments of DC operations and identify gaps in processes.
  • Create tools and standardized audit forms for Cross-Functional Teams, Operations Partners, and Process Excellence teams to complete process assessments.
  • Lead transformational change network projects such as Accelerated Supply Chain Execution (ASCE).
  • Conduct ergonomics evaluations; recommend and implement improvements to work area designs.
  • Observe, identify, and address process opportunities. Create sustainable solutions in collaboration with DC Operations partnership and buy-in.
  • Work cross functionally with the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team to create, update, and/or modify Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) to match LMS prescribed practices.
  • Audit operation’s compliance to SOPs/WIs at Distribution Centers (DCs).
  • Educate DC operation leadership on Engineered Labor Standards (ELS), team members’ accountability, and use of labor management system.
  • Troubleshoot time study analysis and communicate/summarize validation results to Operations Leadership.
  • Train LMS team on creation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ELS.
  • Responsible for updating JDA flowcharts.
  • Partner with DC operations leadership to drive safety, quality, productivity, utilization, and efficiency of the work force.
  • Perform time studies, analysis, and summary reporting; able to calculate performance by element and overall performance for both associate and overall sample group.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on return-on-investment calculations.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop, analyze, and present solutions.
  • Maintain accuracy of DC layout utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Assessment and maintenance of ELS in the MMS network for accuracy.
  • Train front-line operations leadership and hourly associates on prescribed methods based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Utilize reporting such as BI Dashboards to identify gaps in performance to standard.
  • Understanding of connections between ELS flowcharts to finalized SOP.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills (Required)

  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to speak instructionally and publicly at varying levels within an organization.
  • High competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Takes initiative and is highly responsive, attentive to internal customers.
  • AutoCAD, UMTPlus, Blue Yonder (JDA), and SQL.
  • Ability to work across functional areas of the business and with a local DC team
  • Ability to identify & communicate best practices for DC process efficiency
  • Knowledge of distribution center process and procedures as well as layout of facilities
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • MUST be able to travel up to 50 %
  • MUST live within 50 miles of one of the posted locations

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 5 years of engineering work experience.
  • 2+ years experience with project management, system configuration, LMS implementation, and distribution or supply chain

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
MOST Certification Highly Preferred


Physical Requirements
Environment Requirements –

  • Traditional warehouse & office environment.
  • 25-50% US travel required
  • Will be required to live near one of the MMS Distribution Centers

Physical Requirements –

  • Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.
  • Time is split equally between overseeing the DC tasks, interacting with the DC team members, and general office requirements.
  • Role requires being physically present and mobile for long periods of time within the warehouse environment
  • Lifting between 1 and 30 pounds regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$99,800 - $166,300
