Job Summary
As an Analyst on the Biopharma Strategy & Market Intelligence team, you will play a key role in understanding how we understand and act on emerging trends in the Canadian Pharmaceutical Market. This includes integrating information from various sources, projecting future scenarios, and generating strategic insights to guide business decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on uncovering insights through analysis. Central to the role is maintaining and evolution of a centralized database of pharmaceutical products and market trends to support enterprise-wide analysis. The analyst will also gather market intelligence through desk research, industry reports, and cross-functional input.
In addition, the analyst will collaborate across teams to both collect inputs and deliver relevant analyses. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, data analysis skills, ability to synthesize inputs from various information sources, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to work on-site at least 2 days per week at our designated office location. The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business
Specific Responsibilities
- Leverage advanced analytic techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and trends that deliver quality insights.
- Synthesize findings to connect insights to key business priorities and broader organizational implications.
- Communicate findings, verbally and visually, in clear, concise, and compelling summaries.
- Project trends of pharmaceutical products. Further, leverage intelligence and modelling to forecast key events like product launches and impact of loss of exclusivity/generic launches.
- Build and refine models to support business cases and scenario analyses. This can include sensitivity analysis and revenue impacts, among others.
- Integrate quantitative data with qualitative intelligence to make informed assumptions. Includes triangulating, navigating ambiguity, and making decisions on best-available information.
- Own and evolve a centralized pharmaceutical database to support enterprise-wide analytics. Ensure accuracy, timely updates, and ongoing maintenance of the master file.
- Lead desk research and intelligence gathering by identifying and compiling information from multiple sources to inform key elements in the pharmaceutical landscape.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to advance initiatives, gather inputs, align on assumptions, and deliver on initiatives.
- Support enterprise projects with strategic insights and robust analytics.

- Conduct thorough desk research, gather relevant information, and integrate findings from various sources to project future trends and develop strategies.
- Synthesize quantitative data and qualitative intelligence to make sound judgements and assumptions.
- Strong capabilities in managing and maintaining databases and ensuring data accuracy is essential.
- Think strategically by linking insights to broader business objectives and act as an internal consultant on solutioning business challenges.
- Strong collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with cross-functional teams. This includes clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to integrate input from various stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to present to different audiences and levels of seniority.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency. This includes the ability to spot errors and discrepancies in data sets.
- Comfort engaging with technical partners on data structure and technical elements for use in different systems.
- Strong aptitude for identifying opportunities to streamline data and analytics processes. This includes adding efficiency to processes and adding automation to data management, reporting, and analytics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Business, Statistics, Science, etc.) MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in data management, analytics, and strategic insights.
Key Competencies
- Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and familiarity with product life cycle are assets.
- Forecasting experience is an asset.
- Experience modelling scenarios and financial implications is an asset
- Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required. Strong ability to interpret complex data sets, identifying patterns, and drawing meaningful insights. Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization is desirable.
- Triangulation: Ability to apply critical thinking for integrating qualitative intelligence with quantitative data to derive insights.
- Data Management: Experience in building and maintaining large databases for decision-making. Experience in maintaining and validating accuracy is desirable.
- Research Skills: Skilled in desk research, intelligence gathering, and integrating findings from various sources.
- Financial Modelling: Ability to model scenarios including financial Implications
- Digital Aptitude: Interest or experience with data, analysis, automation, visualization software (PowerBI, Snowflake.) Interest or experience in leveraging AI tools for efficiency.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to link analytics to business priorities. Includes shaping analytics approach to address business questions, and connecting insights to business implications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience presenting analyses to stakeholders of different levels of seniority.
- Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
