Job Title: Manager, Pharmaceutical Communications

Position Reports To: Director, Communications (PSaS) 

Location: Irving Texas

Level: P3

Position Summary:

In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for delivering and executing a range of internal and external communications strategies for key segments of McKesson’s Core U.S. Pharmaceutical business. If you're a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments and excels at building strong cross-functional relationships, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

This role sits within McKesson’s Corporate Communications team and will report to the Director of Communications, US Pharmaceutical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies to support key business priorities while working to advance the broader enterprise vision
  • Leverage internal channels to strategically connect each employee to PSaS imperatives and goals
  • Conduct media relations in support of key business milestones and initiatives
  • Amplify our business wins and differentiated capabilities internally and externally
  • Identify and activate external thought leadership opportunities that are aligned with our strategic priorities and reach the right stakeholder, at the right time, with the right message
  • Fortify readiness for industry and company issues
  • Lead strategic planning, coach leaders for high-impact delivery, and develop compelling content for major internal events
  • Activate executive communications for key business leaders
  • Lead change communications supporting organization’s business needs

Expertise/Capabilities should include:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI, such as using Microsoft Copilot to streamline workflows, improve content creation and drive engagement through data-driven insights.
  • Ability to manage projects and changing priorities, multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Executive communications and thought leadership
  • Understanding complex concepts and writing in a clear, concise manner
  • Organization and executive communications
  • Change communications surrounding organizational updates and changes
  • Media relations and relationship building
  • Social media support and copy editing
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership
  • Storytelling behind customer success stories and business wins
  • Issues management
  • Ability to travel - 30%

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education/Training-

  • 4-year degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, English, or relevant field

Required Business Experience-

  • 4+ years of internal, executive, and/or external communications, or related experience
  • Healthcare experience preferred

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$77,000 - $128,300
