Job Summary

Own and drive the Deal Pricing Platform roadmap, backlog, and strategic product direction. Lead the translation of business objectives into scalable technical solutions by partnering closely with architects, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders. Accountable for product strategy, solution delivery, platform modernization, AI-enabled innovation, and achievement of business outcomes through Agile product leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Deal Pricing Platform roadmap, backlog, and strategic product direction.
  • Lead translation of business objectives into scalable technical solutions, partnering closely with architects, engineers, and data teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business and technology teams, facilitating discussions and driving alignment across stakeholders.
  • Lead delivery of custom-built application enhancements, integrations, databases, APIs, and analytics capabilities.
  • Drive Agile product leadership, including prioritization, planning, product acceptance, and value realization.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve SDLC efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Support solution architecture, testing, releases, production support, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Monitor product and platform performance, remove delivery roadblocks, and ensure successful business outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, including Product Ownership, Product Management, Solution Delivery, or Software Engineering leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of experience serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager for custom-built enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated history of leading software development efforts from concept through deployment, including defining solution direction, driving technical decisions, and partnering closely with engineering teams.
  • Proven experience delivering complex enterprise technology solutions in Agile environments.

Critical Skills

Technical Product Leadership

  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to effectively engage architects, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with modern application architectures, APIs, integrations, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise software ecosystems.
  • Ability to understand and challenge technical designs, architectural decisions, data models, system integrations, and implementation approaches.
  • Experience supporting and enhancing custom-built applications rather than solely configuring commercial off-the-shelf software.
  • Strong understanding of application development lifecycles, software engineering best practices, DevOps, CI/CD, testing strategies, and production support models.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and vice versa.

AI & Technology Innovation

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI, Generative AI, or intelligent automation capabilities to improve software delivery, engineering productivity, business processes, or customer outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement opportunities for AI-enabled efficiencies across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with emerging AI-driven development practices, product management techniques, and enterprise adoption strategies.

Business & Domain Expertise

  • Understanding of pricing, finance, product economics, profitability analysis, or commercial business processes.
  • Experience within wholesale pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare distribution, drug pricing, contract pricing, rebate management, or related industries preferred.
  • Ability to understand financial drivers, P&L impacts, pricing strategies, and business performance metrics.
  • Strong business partnership skills with the ability to facilitate discussions, drive alignment, and influence decision-making across business and technology organizations.

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional discussions involving business stakeholders, technology leaders, architects, engineers, and operational teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, requirements discovery sessions, solution design discussions, and program planning activities.
  • Strong ownership mindset with a demonstrated ability to drive outcomes, remove obstacles, and lead teams through ambiguity.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$136,500 - $227,500
