Inventory Specialist, Distribution Center

Location: Tolleson, AZ, USA - 1717 South 91st Ave

Shift - Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Note - Shift subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT may be required and is mandatory if required. Flexibility is required.

The Phoenix (Tolleson) Distribution Center is a brand new facility that offers an excellent environment to thrive within.

Job Summary

As a Materials Handler Specialist, Inventory at McKesson Medical in Phoenix, AZ, you will play a pivotal role in managing our inventory to prevent excess expense and ensure our customers receive uncompromised products. You will monitor exceptions related to recalled and quarantined products, oversee the disposal of regulated waste, and prepare products for donation programs. You will collaborate with various departments to support McKesson's mission of delivering high-quality medical products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using McKesson's inventory management system. Monitor exceptions regarding recalled and quarantined products to ensure compliance with federal, local, and company regulations.

  • Monitor damaged products to ensure customers do not receive compromised items. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly.

  • Receive training and take responsibility for the compliant disposal of all regulated waste, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

  • Collaborate with various departments to eliminate excess inventory expense, monitor compliance, and provide proper and timely customer service.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency. Work with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory processes.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols. Promote a safe working environment within the inventory management team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience preferred; a minimum of 6 months of material handling experience with McKesson is required for internal members

  • 6 months of experience utilizing Power Industrial Equipment (i.e., order picker, reach truck, ride on pallet jack); must be able to maintain certifications

  • Knowledge of Inventory Specialist functions preferred

  • MS Office proficiency at a basic to intermediate level 

  • Exposure to E1, RF webpage, Smart page is strong preferred

  • Basic math skills required

  • Good communication skills with the ability to follow through on SOP’s 

  • Must be a positive change team member that demonstrates passion and commitment to the success of the team and individuals

  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a broader diverse team

  • Good critical thinking skills with the ability to see the “big picture” and be proactive

  • Excellent organization and prioritization in a fast paced environment

  • Other tasks may be assigned to improve and maintain the proper training and support of the DC

Physical Demands (some or all may apply):

  • Must be comfortable working at heights

  • Must be comfortable working in refrigerated areas

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.

  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

  • May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion and great weights in a team lift.

  • Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $16.94 - $28.24
