Senior Manager, Domestic Logistics

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Manager, Domestic Logistics to lead domestic inbound transportation operations, logistics strategy, carrier and supplier programs, freight management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

In this leadership role, you will oversee a team responsible for transportation operations, logistics analytics, freight audit and payment processes, supplier logistics programs, and inbound flow optimization. You will partner across Supply Chain, Distribution Operations, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and external transportation partners to improve service, reduce costs, optimize network performance, and drive operational excellence.

This position is ideal for a leader who combines strong supply chain expertise, financial acumen, and people leadership with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and execute strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop managers and analysts responsible for transportation operations, logistics programs, analytics, and supplier transportation initiatives.
• Develop and execute domestic transportation and inbound logistics strategies that improve service performance, cost efficiency, inventory flow, and operational effectiveness.
• Manage carrier, supplier, and logistics partner relationships while ensuring service, compliance, and performance expectations are met.
• Drive transportation optimization initiatives, including freight management, network improvements, supplier conversion programs, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee inbound scheduling, routing, receiving coordination, dock utilization, and transportation planning activities.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation costs, service levels, freight recovery, supplier participation, and operational performance.
• Lead freight audit, payment, recovery, and financial control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize transportation, operational, and financial data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and develop actionable business recommendations.
• Partner with technology teams to support transportation systems, automation initiatives, process improvements, and digital transformation efforts.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving logistics network optimization, transportation technology, process improvement, and operational change management.
• Communicate business performance, strategic recommendations, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related operations.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing professional teams.

Critical Skills & Experience

• Experience leading transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience managing carrier, supplier, or third-party logistics relationships.
• Experience with transportation performance metrics, logistics analytics, and operational reporting.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvement efforts.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), freight management, or logistics technology platforms.
• Strong financial, analytical, and business planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in healthcare distribution, pharmaceutical distribution, wholesale distribution, or large-scale supply chain environments.
• Experience with freight audit and payment programs.
• Experience using Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel, EDI platforms, or transportation analytics tools.
• Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, or Continuous Improvement certification.
• Experience leading transportation network optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale transformation or digital supply chain programs.
