Post-Acute Field Sales Account Manager | North Carolina or South Carolina

🌟 Join McKesson’s Extended Care Sales Team

Are you an accomplished field-sales professional with established experience in the Extended Care market? McKesson Medical-Surgical is hiring two Post-Acute Field Sales Account Managers, with one position supporting North Carolina and one supporting South Carolina.

These territories offer meaningful opportunity to develop new business while building upon existing customer relationships. The successful candidates will bring market knowledge, consultative sales experience, and the initiative needed to manage a field-based territory independently.

🚨 Important: TWO Separate Openings

McKesson is hiring TWOPost-Acute Field Sales Account Managers as part of this search.

  • One position will support customers throughout North Carolina

  • One position will support customers throughout South Carolina

Candidates will be considered only for the state they are applying to support. We are not seeking one individual to cover both states.

Candidates may reside anywhere within their applicable state and should bring established market knowledge and customer familiarity within that territory.

🌟 Location and Territory Requirements

  • One position will support customers throughout North Carolina.

  • One position will support customers throughout South Carolina.

  • Candidates may live anywhere within the state they will support.

  • Candidates should bring existing familiarity with Extended Care providers, care settings, and customer dynamics in the applicable territory.

  • The position requires approximately 75% travel throughout the assigned state.

💰 Compensation and Benefits

This opportunity offers:

  • $80,000 base salary

  • $35,000 target incentive with uncapped earning potential

  • Additional new-business bonus opportunities

  • Choice of a $668 monthly automobile allowance or company vehicle with fuel card

💼 About the Role

As a Post-Acute Field Sales Account Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Extended Care customers, helping providers access McKesson’s portfolio of medical supplies, equipment, and services.

You will be responsible for identifying new-business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and delivering consultative solutions that support customer needs and improved patient care.

Patients in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, sub-acute care, long-term acute care, home care, and hospice settings have unique and evolving medical-supply needs.

McKesson offers a comprehensive portfolio of products, equipment, and services supporting Extended Care providers and the patients they serve.

🚀 What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of Post-Acute Care customers within the assigned state

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new-business opportunities

  • Build trusted relationships with customer leaders and key decision-makers

  • Conduct business reviews and deliver consultative sales presentations

  • Recommend McKesson products, services, and solutions aligned with customer needs

  • Support customer onboarding, product conversions, and sales initiatives

  • Identify customer satisfaction gaps and develop appropriate solutions

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and team members on territory priorities and complex customer opportunities

  • Maintain awareness of regional providers, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities

🎯 What You Bring

Minimum Requirements

  • Four or more years of relevant field-sales experience

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. 7-year Motor Vehicle Record Check completed during pre-employment

  • Ability to travel approximately 75% throughout the assigned territory

Critical Skills

  • Established experience within the Extended Care market in North Carolina or South Carolina

  • Demonstrated success identifying and winning new business

  • Proven ability to grow and retain existing customer accounts

  • Consultative selling and relationship-management experience

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage a large field territory

  • Sound judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort adapting daily schedules to meet territory, travel, and customer needs

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, hospice, DME, wound care, or related Post-Acute Care providers

  • Experience in healthcare distribution

  • Existing professional relationships in the applicable state

  • Experience conducting business reviews and consultative customer presentations

  • Salesforce experience

  • A track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales goals

🏡 Work Environment

  • Field-based role with approximately 75% travel

  • Monday through Friday schedule

  • Daily working hours will fluctuate based on travel and customer needs

  • Significant time spent traveling by automobile

  • Regular phone and computer-based work

  • Initial ramp-up will include time in the field with the Area Sales Manager and other team members

🎓 Education

  • High school diploma required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$114,800 - $191,300

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
