Position Summary

The Sr. Solution Manager, SAP Logistics, is accountable for the end-to-end strategy, architecture direction, lifecycle, performance, and business value of integrated warehouse and transportation solutions. The scope includes SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Yard Logistics/Yard Management, Labor Management, Transportation Management (TMS/TM), warehouse billing, warehouse automation, and the integrations that connect these capabilities with enterprise resource planning, carriers, customers, material-handling equipment, and external platforms.

This role operates as a hands-on, architect-level technology leader. It translates complex distribution and logistics needs into scalable solution designs, roadmaps, investment priorities, and delivery plans. The role partners with business leaders, solution and enterprise architects, subject matter experts, product teams, vendors, and delivery teams to drive standardization, reliable operations, modernization, and continuous improvement across complex and regulated supply-chain environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the vision, strategy, target architecture, and multi-year roadmap for SAP logistics and warehouse solutions, aligned with business priorities and enterprise standards.
• Provide architect-level leadership across SAP EWM, Yard Logistics/Yard Management, Labor Management, SAP Transportation Management or comparable TMS platforms, warehouse billing, and warehouse automation.
• Lead current-state assessments, fit-gap analysis, solution optioning, process harmonization, and future-state design across inbound, outbound, internal warehouse, yard, labor, transportation, billing, and automation processes.
• Translate business requirements and operational constraints into end-to-end functional and technical designs, integration patterns, data flows, configuration direction, and implementation plans.
• Remain sufficiently hands-on to review SAP configuration and design decisions, challenge implementation assumptions, guide troubleshooting, validate prototypes, and support critical delivery and production issues.
• Own solution lifecycle governance including demand shaping, roadmap prioritization, release planning, design assurance, operational readiness, service performance, technical debt, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure integration across SAP S/4HANA, EWM, TM/TMS, yard and labor capabilities, billing, warehouse control or execution systems, material-handling equipment, carrier platforms, EDI/APIs, analytics, and partner solutions.
• Establish and enforce design principles, reusable patterns, guardrails, and decision records that improve scalability, security, resilience, supportability, compliance, and total cost of ownership.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to define measurable outcomes, develop investment recommendations, manage solution financial impacts, and track value realization.
• Lead and influence solution architects, functional and technical SMEs, domain experts, system integrators, vendors, and cross-functional delivery teams without relying solely on direct authority.
• Drive vendor and implementation-partner accountability through clear scope, architecture expectations, deliverable reviews, quality standards, risk management, and outcome-based governance.
• Guide modernization, automation, and innovation opportunities, including robotics, conveyance, sortation, automated storage and retrieval, voice/vision technologies, labor optimization, and data-driven logistics decisions.
• Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and roadmap recommendations to executive, business, architecture, engineering, and operational audiences.
• Mentor team members and strengthen solution management, architecture, and SAP logistics practices across the organization.

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

• Demonstrated experience leading solution strategy, architecture, delivery, and lifecycle management for enterprise warehouse, transportation, or supply chain platforms.
• Deep hands-on SAP experience with SAP EWM and strong working knowledge across several of the following: Yard Logistics/Yard Management, Labor Management, SAP TM/TMS, warehouse billing, warehouse automation, and SAP S/4HANA logistics integration.
• Prior experience operating at a solution architect, domain architect, lead architect, or equivalent level, with ownership of end-to-end designs and cross-platform decisions.
• Ability to assess SAP configuration and custom designs, lead fit-to-standard decisions, evaluate extensions, and guide teams through complex functional and technical trade-offs.
• Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution processes including receiving, put-away, replenishment, inventory management, picking, packing, staging, shipping, yard movements, labor planning, freight execution, settlement/billing, and exception handling.
• Experience integrating SAP solutions with warehouse automation and external systems using appropriate enterprise integration patterns, APIs, events, middleware, and EDI.
• Proven ability to lead architects, SMEs, domain experts, vendors, and delivery teams across complex programs and production environments.
• Experience with architecture governance, design reviews, roadmap development, operational readiness, service management, risk management, and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose cross-system issues and convert findings into practical corrective actions or roadmap investments.
• Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance business value, user experience, operational continuity, regulatory needs, cost, technical sustainability, and delivery risk.
• Knowledge of regulated distribution, pharmaceutical/healthcare supply chain, third-party logistics, or high-volume warehouse operations is strongly valued.

Business Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically requires 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including sustained responsibility for SAP logistics, warehouse, transportation, or supply-chain solutions.
• Demonstrated hands-on SAP delivery experience and progressive responsibility from functional or technical SME roles into solution or domain architecture leadership.
• Experience leading medium-to-large, cross-platform initiatives from discovery and architecture through implementation, stabilization, operations, and optimization.
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders, guiding system integrators and vendors, and delivering measurable business and operational outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
