Current Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategicArea Sales Manager of Post Acute Careto lead and inspire a team of field sales representatives. This leader will be responsible for driving performance, fostering a high-performance culture, and delivering results in a competitive healthcare market.

To best support the team and territory, our preferred candidate will residein or near Lexington or Louisville, Kentucky.

Position Description:

The Area Sales Manager is accountable for leading a team of field sales representatives and achieving all financial objectives.  The ASM is responsible for setting direction in alignment with business initiatives; for attracting and selecting talent; onboarding new employees to decrease time to productivity; driving performance through their team members by setting direction, providing feedback, and creating a trust-based, inclusive work environment; developing employees through coaching and feedback; rewarding and recognizing employees via ongoing recognition and core pay-for-performance practices. This high-profile position will also have full P&L responsibility for a region generating over $90M in revenue.  Expectations are to grow both new and existing business by directing the field sales team, developing strategic business plans, establishing and monitoring sales goals, developing close relationships with key accounts, internal stakeholders and supporting teams such as Inside Sales, Gov’t Sales, Clinical Support and Field Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Market Expansion: Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new customers and increase market share across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), Hospice, and Home Health Agencies.

  • Field Team Development: Actively support and mentor sales representatives through regular travel within the region, conducting joint customer visits to ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction.

  • Resource Enablement: Equip sales teams with the tools, training, and support necessary to effectively service accounts and close new business opportunities.

  • Talent Acquisition & Growth: Recruit, onboard, and continuously develop high-performing sales representatives to build a strong and capable team.

  • Performance Leadership: Monitor and manage individual and team performance, providing coaching and feedback to drive results and accountability.

  • Goal Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed financial targets and other business objectives as defined by organizational leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 9 years professional / sales experience

  • 1-year (min) leading people directly or indirectly

  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. 7-year MVR check during pre-employment.

Basic Required Skills:

  • Proven success inselling to C-suite executives, with the ability to build trust and influence high-level decision-makers.

  • Strongfinancial acumenwith the ability to interpret data and drive business outcomes.

  • Demonstratesmature confidence and self-awareness, using diplomacy and emotional intelligence to influence and lead others effectively.

  • Track record ofperformance management, including coaching, mentoring, and developing field sales teams to exceed targets.

  • Exceptionalleadership capabilities, with experience managing remote or geographically dispersed teams.

  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and familiarity withSalesforce (SFDC)andPower BIfor data-driven decision-making.

  • Willingness and ability totravel within the assigned regionto support team performance and customer engagement.

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in distribution sales.

  • Demonstrated success in building and growing a new region / territory.

  • Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$140,600 - $234,400

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
