Position Description
The Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer will develop and maintain on-premise and cloud systems with a specific focus on application delivery and support.
Responsibilities
- Perform in a team leader role. Acts as a resource for colleagues and mentors’ new hires.
- Design strategy and solutions for improving application availability, performance, and health.
- Resolve complicated product application support issues.
- Perform root cause investigations, determine remediations and implement solutions to prevent similar issues.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots reoccurring incidents and improve mean time to resolution or recommend corrective action(s).
- DevOps participant supporting application deployment and management
- Determine, define, and facilitate creation of processes required to keep application services available and within defined SLO’s or SLA’s.
- Facilitate Disaster Recovery documentation creation, maintenance, and automation.
- Provide evidence in support of annual audits

Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience
Critical Skills
- Can accomplish work without considerable direction and uses judgement within broad policies and practices.
- 4-7+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration
- 4-7+ years of experience in application support (Traditional Fat Client and Web based on Windows Server with SQL Server database backend)
- 3+ years supporting system integration solutions. (web services/API using Windows Server IIS)
- 3+ years using automated build/provisioning processes.
- Scripting language experience to support application and/or cloud automation. (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
Additional Knowledge and Skills Preferred
- Experience using a Cloud provider, such as GCP, Azure, and/or AWS
- Virtualization technologies like VmWare and/or Citrix
- Experience in monitoring tools like Solarwinds/Datadog/Dynatrace
- Understanding of DevOps tools and environments like Jenkins, Git, Rundeck and/or Terraform
- Excellent communication skills. (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Ability to analyze highly complex systems with specific attention to detail
- Team leader mentality with specific focus on inclusion
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, Computer Science preferred or relevant professional experience
- Cloud certification (strongly desired)
