Material Handler Specialist, Sortation - Distribution Center

Location: Buford, GA, USA - 4435 Thompson Mill Road

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2pm -10:30pm

Competitive base pay along with a $1/hr shift differential

Note - Shift subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT may be required and is mandatory if required. This position start time may fluctuate and flexibility is required.

Overview

We are hiring a Material Handler Specialist for the Sortation area.

Duties and responsibilities(some or all may apply):

  • Receives, checks, counts, verifies, and audits accuracy of materials received against packing slips or other documentation, reports discrepancies.

  • Inspects shipments for damages, shortages, overages, proper product identification; records data on shipping documents or computer system.

  • Sorts, labels, routes, unpacks, packages, and distributes incoming material to proper departments.

  • Verifies accuracy of material requested with information in computer system.

  • Processes returns, credits, and corrections.

  • Picks and/or pulls orders using RF Scanner.

  • Packs and prepares finished orders for delivery to customers.

  • Maintains all paperwork related to the above duties including but not limited to work tickets, pick lists, shipping documents, etc.

  • Performs other material handling functions as assigned and other duties as assigned by leader

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires 3+ year(s) of related experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of distribution/warehouse experience preferred; internals must have at least 6 months of service to qualify

  • Strong understanding of distribution center process and procedures

  • Experience or exposure to sortation practices preferred

  • Power Equipment experience preferred. If no experience, location is willing to train, but, must be able to maintain certifications

  • Familiarity with RF scanner and warehouse management systems preferred

  • Must be a positive change team member that demonstrates passion and commitment to the success of the team and individuals

  • Must have a positive attitude, be quality driven, organized, punctual, committed, self-motivated and have an excellent attendance record

  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality; self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong adherence to established procedures and safety protocols; comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Physical Demands (may include all or some of the following, some only on occasion):

  • General office demands

  • Must be comfortable working at heights

  • Must be comfortable working in refrigerated areas when required

  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles throughout the course of a shift (steps vary per shift) 

  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance; ability to lift greater weights in a team lift (weight varies based on product)  

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.

  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

  • Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to hear normal voice sounds

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $16.94 - $28.24
