Job Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Nurse Patient Experience Navigator plays a vital role in the support for our patients within the patient assistance program. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of program support for assigned physicians or centers (hospital or clinics) in each geographical area and ensures that patients are provided easy access to the support program and access to their drug therapy. The Nurse Patient Experience Navigator will work directly within the reimbursement specialist to help secure funding as well as continuing to build a rapport with clinics and physicians.
Specific Responsibilities
- Register healthcare providers (HCPs) and patients according to program guidelines.
- Enter and manage patient and program data accurately.
- Respond to general inquiries via phone or online about program services, disease information, and products.
- Provide education and support to patients and healthcare providers on disease management and therapies.
- Complete specialized training on therapies offered by the pharmaceutical team.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls for patient support, including adherence and maintenance.
- Review patient healthcare plans and connect them to additional support services when needed.
- Follow case management protocols, including monitoring, data collection, follow-ups, and reporting adverse events.
- Work with physicians and reimbursement specialists to secure therapy funding and explore alternative funding options.
- Attend meetings and conferences to stay informed and improve patient support.
- Report adverse events to Health Canada and update internal systems.
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, and service providers to ensure smooth patient care.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer service.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a liaison between vendors and manufacturers.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations internally and externally.
- Support virtual meetings, seminars, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify growth opportunities and assist with proposals.
- Advocate for public assistance resources for patients when needed.
- Analyze data to identify trends and inform account strategies.
- Represent customer needs internally and communicate urgent issues to senior management.
- Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude and adapt to changing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of case/patient management experience.
- Licensed Nurse (RN/RPN/LPN) in good standing with the Province of Ontario's regulatory body.
- Flexibility to travel across North America (approx. 30% travel depending on site assignment).
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of MS therapeutic area (preferred).
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to use CRM systems and virtual meeting tools.
- Experience with data management and reporting (asset).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); bilingualism is an advantage.
- Ability to build professional, empathetic relationships and handle difficult conversations.
- Strong presentation skills (in-person and virtual).
- Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and motivate others.
